Feature Vendor of the Week:
*A Handful of Seeds and a Hoe*
All Trevor’s produce is grown on their family farm near Mundare using organic methods. They fertilize with well composted cow manure and control weeds the old fashioned way - with Trevor’s trusty hoe & rototiller. Trevor also uses row covers to keep the bugs at bay.
Trevor and his family try to grow the best tasting vegetable varieties available from sweet Nantes carrots, Green Arrow peas & Sun Sugar cherry tomatoes. Whenever possible he tries to grow Heritage varieties not only because they have superior flavour, but also because Trevor thinks maintaining biodiversity is important. This year Trevor has 16 different crops (44 different varieties).
Currently available: Kale, Ukrainian chard, green onions, beet greens, beets, (red & golden), summer squash (zucchini, etc.), cabbage, carrots, peas, & lettuce.
The first 20 customers to make a purchase at “A Handful of Seeds and a Hoe” booth on Thursday, July 23rd, 2015 will each receive $5 in Salisbury Market Bucks towards their next vendor purchase at the market on Thursday nigh
